Meet You at the Feeder

Bird watching through the front window on Saturday morning.
House finches and gold finches.
A flicker. Beautiful when in flight, but I didn't catch him.
Oregon junkos and golden-crowned sparrow.
Chickadee and finch.
Acorn woodpecker.
Checking the level?
Inter-racial rivalry over the suite feeder. Scrub jay and woodpecker with sparrow looking on.
Chickadee and finches.
A titmouse.
Hummingbird frappucino? I caught this one during the cold snap a couple of days ago.

Snow delay

Instead of rushing in to the office this morning, I decided to take a little time to enjoy the winter wonderland. It doesn't generally last too long here in the southland of Oregon.
Gold finches in their winter attire, with one nuthatch as well.

A hawk looks on from high atop a tree.
I love the way the branches of the oaks form a lacy pattern.

And since we've nowhere to go . . .

Bring it on! We might have to cancel the planned trailer trip to the coast for next weekend, however. More storms are expected.

Thanksgiving weekend project

Earring/jewelry holder and display. Done with knobby, uneven, natural handspun yarn which I inherited. #8 needles: pattern k1*yo,s1,k1,psso,k1,k1* pearl between pattern rows
And for extra fun I worked on creating a new knitting addict. Catherine went home with a set of circular needles, a how-to book, and a skein of pretty peacock-blue/green yarn. I introduced her to Webster's in Ashland. Sorry, Jamie. I wasn't quite sure about showing a lefty the beginning moves, but she was picking it up quite quickly. I think that my new daughter-in-law is like me and doesn't adapt well to "down time". Knitting is a great way to feel productive even when you're "not doing anything".
