The OMG trail

Last year, we tried Coyote Canyon with the Element.  I posted "Going home, buying Jeep".   Which we did.  Yesterday we had a triumphant return to the canyon, pictures of which will come shortly.

Buoyed by some (over?) confidence, we tried a new road today.  Out of Ocotillo Wells, we were assured by a park volunteered that our Jeep could handle it.

Next time, we will stop at the official ranger station and ask.  A skinny track along a ridge, it was scarier and steeper than the pictures look.  Especially when we were trying to find a place to turn around.

This was on the way back out.

Selfie!  Proof that I was there.

And now, for something completely different . . .

Camp for the week at Anza Borrego State Park.  The view from our dinette window.

And as the sun sets . . .

I took these during the drive down from the Coachella Valley.

From earlier in the week:

Leaving home on Wednesday.

At Orange Grove RV Park on Friday morning.  We have oranges.

Saturday Sunrise at Two Springs RV Resort.

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

Twenty years, three months, 23 days.  Roughly one third of my life so far.  And as Tavia so succinctly put it "But in the end, holy hell, we all get a sheet cake."

Kind of does put it in perspective, doesn't it.
