Farragut

While staying in Coeur d'Alene we made a brief visit up to Farragut State Park. From 1942 to 1946 Farragut was the site of a Naval training facility and Tom's dad had his basic training there. The buildings have long since been dismantled but there is a museum on the site of the original brig.

With more historical data, we could probably find Dale's name in one of the record books.  Too bad they are not yet computerized.

Model of the camp as it was.

If you look carefully, the sculpture is made up of the faces of many sailors.

Lake Pend Oreille

There is a really nice campground at the state park and including a boondocking area. It's worth another visit.
